The village operates its own water treatment plant providing water to residents that meets Canadian Drinking Water Standards. Property owners are responsible for the waterlines on their property. The village supplies water meters. If you have an issue with your water meter, please contact the village office as soon as possible.
The village does not have a public fill station at this time.
The village has a two part sewer system. Each property has a divided septic tank. Your septic pump will move liquids out of your tank into the village line which flows to our lift station where it is pumped to the lagoon. Solids remain in the tank. It is recommended that tanks be cleaned every 1-2 years. The village offers this service in the fall for a fee. Watch for a public notice on our Facebook Page, this website or at the post office. Property owners are responsible for their own septic tanks, sewer pumps and sewer lines located on their property. Please contact the village office if you would like more information about how the North Portal sewer system works.
The lagoon servicing the Village of North Portal is limited to the municipality. There will be no dumping of sewage or grey water from any other private individual, corporation or other entity without prior approval.
Water, sewer and garbage fees are billed every quarter (Mar 31, Jun 30, Sep 30, Dec 31). Please contact the village office at (306)927-5050 or villagen@sasktel.net to set up your account.
