Road Restrictions
NOTICE OF ROAD BANS
In accordance with Bylaw No. 2021-01 of the Village of North Portal, Notice is hereby given that effective 12 o’clock midnight, February 28th, 2025 and until further notice all Roadways within the village, excluding 3rd St (Highway 39, shall be restricted to local, lightweight traffic with no vehicles in excess of 12,000lbs without prior approval by the village.
Road bans are implemented to mitigate damage to our streets during the spring thaw.
This means residents will need to refrain from scheduling any activities during road bans that may involve heavy vehicles (gravel delivery, non-emergency septic work, etc)
Failure to comply with the bylaw will result in a fine of $200.
Emergency contract work that requires heavy vehicles on village roads will require prior approval by the Village.

2025 Notice of Assessment
2025 is a revaluation year for the province, which means every property owner will receive an assessment notice. The deadline to appeal your property assessment is April 30th, 2025.
The assessment roll may be viewed at the the village office located at 204 Park Ave, North Portal. You may also access assessment information through SAMA's online database (also known as SAMAView). SAMAView provides public access to search, view and compare individual property assessments in all SAMA’s client jurisdictions. Access is free of charge for non-commercial users.
